About Client
West Africa Vocational Education (WAVE) is a social enterprise that fights unemployment in West Africa by teaching hard-working young people the skills they need to get a good job and start a successful career. They also match their trained Alumni with the right employer partners for full time employment.
Challenge
At point of engagement, WAVE found it difficult to meet their monthly training target and as such could not place as many young people in full time entry-level jobs.
Solution Proffered
ROC identified low awareness as a major factor. Hence, ROC defined their target audience clearly, developed messaging that will connect with them and deployed the messages through direct marketing – town storming events and flyer distribution. Radio interviews in stations clearly targeted at the demographic and a Digital Marketing Campaign to increase followership, engagement and applications online were also deployed.
In 2015 when ROC started managing the account, WAVE had only trained a little over 100 job seekers and about had 50 employer partners. After three years of managing the account, WAVE attracted and trained 2000 job seekers and matched 50% of them to full time entry-level jobs. WAVE also attracted over 250 employer partners. We have also increased followership on both their Facebook and Instagram pages by 50%.
